The Academy is pleased to announce the release of the 2018 New York Maternal Mortality Summit Proceedings report.
On February 14, 2018, nearly 600 health professionals participated in the summit to address the ongoing maternal mortality crisis. Representatives from state and city government, healthcare professions, associations, community-based organizations, advocacy groups and others convened to discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead in addressing the unacceptably high rate of maternal death and maternal mortality inequities in New York.
This report is available now on our website along with the summit program, webcast and a growing list of resources including the Academy’s white paper “Recent and Ongoing Initiatives in New York to Reduce Maternal Mortality.”
We hope the Summit Proceedings report will be useful not only as a documentation of the presentations and ideas generated at the Summit, but that it will also help to galvanize action on policy and practice changes to help save New York’s mothers.
